Yunyang Social Welfare Institute

Yuyang Social Welfare Institute is a small orphanage run by director
Madam Yang in Yunyang County, located in Chongqing
municipality. The orphanage has over 20 children cared for by 3
nannies. Because Yunyang is hours away from the nearest major
city, Chongqing, Madam Yang and two nanny will bring Travers
and an adopted girl to our hotel in Chongqing to meet their new
parents. We will finally meet Travers on Sunday, SEptember 12th,
2004 in our hotel room.
Since we will not get to travel to Yunyang County, a disposable camera was sent to
Madam Yang to take pictures of Travers in his orphanage. These are some of the pictures
Madam Yang took with the disposable camera. We are very thankful to have received
these! We he gets old enough to appreciate his story, We are sure he will be thankful too.

YunYang Social Welfare Institute appears to be a clean
orphanage surrounded with newer buildings. We
surmise from the pictures that the grounds are well kept
and that there is plenty of space to play. There is only
one picture of the interior. It appears to be rows of
cribs, but it is too dark to see any detail. YunYang
County is a rural city on the Yangtze River. Most of the
city will be completely flooded by the Three Gorges
Dam. We are not sure of the fate of this institute.
Madam Yang did a great job capturing pictures of
Yang Fu An in different places around the institute
grounds. From the pictures, he seems to have the
things a young baby needs to play and to stimulate his
mind. The same caregivers who delivered him to
Chongqing can be seen in some of these pictures.
